Founded in 1985, the Washington Society for the Study of Eating Disorders and Obesity (WSSEDO) is a multidisciplinary organization of mental health and health care professionals in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan are who are active in the field of eating disorders and obesity. Its goals are:

  • To foster a sense of connectedness among professionals working in the field of eating disorders and obesity;

  • To facilitate a dynamic exchange of new theoretical ideas, promising treatment techniques, and cutting edge research advances among eating disorder clinicians, investigators, scientists and scholars;

  • To promote the professional enhancement of people working in the field of eating disorders and obesity by providing a network by which eating disorder professionals can develop their careers;

  • To offer meetings and educational programs to our membership and the community in an effort to develop and extent knowledge of the fields of eating disorders and obesity.
Event Announcement

The Renfrew Center Foundation is holding The 17th Annual Renfrew Center Foundation Conference For Professionals, Feminist Perspectives and Beyond: Exploring Eating Disorders Recovery. It is a four-day seminar for behavioral health professionals and dietitians and offers 22.5 CEUs.

The event is taking place at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott, Philadelphia, PA on November 8th - 11th, 2007.
